Body fade

Our collection spans the existence of Kent Police from 1857 to the present day, including the borough forces and crimes committed in the county. We’re currently working on cataloguing our entire collection.

Scroll through the album below to browse some of our collection of artefacts. We'll be adding to this over time so keep checking back.

You can click on the images in the album to read a description for each item.

We estimate that we have the following quantities within the collection:
  • 10,000 photographs (including negatives)
  • 3,000 artefacts (including costume/guns/evidence)
  • 5,000 documents (including newspaper articles)
  • 1,500 books/ journals
  • 3,000 films
  • 2 Motorbikes
Our number one priority is to make sure everything is properly cared for and documented. We’re also aiming to have an online resource, where the collection can be searched in its entirety and used for research.

Keep an eye on our homepage where we have a different 'object of the month' each month, giving you lots of detail about one artefact and its relevance to the Kent Police story.
