Our mission

The facility for research is a priority at the museum. Our ultimate aim is to have a research facility online and we intend to provide internet access to certain records for public use.

However, after we've completed a more comprehensive database we will be able to provide more detailed and efficient support for genealogical research. At that point there will be a charge to use the service, the cost covering our time searching, as well as the production of photocopies or scans of anything we find which is relevant. There will be some enquiries we may not be able to answer and these won't be subject to charge.

When we open to the public we'll also offer researchers the opportunity to come in and use our collection for their studies, under the supervision of the Curator. Any information used for publications should be credited to the Kent Police Museum.

PLEASE NOTE: We are in the process of recruiting a new curator. Unfortunately we are not able to progress any research requests until the new curator is in post.
